As we have been covering this month, Artificial Intelligence has made leaps in recent months and there’s nothing to suggest the advancements will slow down. We have been exposed to AI for decades in some form or another, but breakthroughs over the past year have created more accessible AI programs for people and businesses to work with.
Businesses need to be wary of certain concerns before implementing AI along with monitoring the Intellectual Property implications of these AI advancements. With those aspects addressed, however, there is great potential for Florida businesses to use AI to grow. Here is a rundown of the various programs being commonly used.
Artificial Intelligence data and information analysis
ChatGPT by OpenAI is perhaps the most popular AI program as of this writing. The program is trained on human data, information, and inputs to generate real-time responses to just about any prompt. These prompts can be very basic and general or specific and nuanced.
OpenAI’s program readily addresses mistakes, biases, errors, and inappropriate entries to give users usable information. Two of the main concerns are that the program relies on data from September 2021 and before and that the program puts the onus on users to verify the information given (both factually and as it pertains to potential IP infringement).
Businesses can take advantage of information and data analytics with ChatGPT, but the limitations of old data must be considered.
Bard by Google may soon replace ChatGPT as the most common AI program. Bard does essentially the same thing as ChatGPT but Bard boasts real-time data usage and produces results based on that data.
The power of Google opens more doors for Bard and the program, unlike ChatGPT, can analyze actual links and websites. The greater amount of recent data makes Bard a great option for Florida businesses that need to do data analysis and get an idea of what competitors are doing that maybe they aren’t.
Artificial Intelligence chatbots for your website
Long before this recent AI “revolution,” companies started using chatbots for their own websites. These chats used intuitive and real-time response bots to answer surface-level questions from users. Users get a chat window when they open the website and are asked if they need help.
If your business wants to use one of these, programs like ChatBot, Zendesk, and Tidio offer chats that can be programmed or coded into your website. These allow you to filter website visitors and create potential leads if implemented correctly.
Chatbots on your business’ website can annoy some users, however, and making the first interaction between your business and a potential customer/client AI-based could cost you some leads, as well.
Artificial Intelligence image, video, and audio generation
Does your line of work require you to come up with drafts of interactive media? AI may be able to help you skip a few steps and make your work more efficient.
There are a number of AI programs that can generate actual, usable forms of media. This has been one of the fastest-growing elements of AI, but some people have concerns about how scammers will use the programs. If you use them, make sure you include an element of transparency internally and externally.
The programs most commonly used right now include:
- For image generation: MidJourney & DALL-E 2
- For video generation: Runway, Descript & InVideo
- For audio generation: Audio.ai & Krisp
Each of these programs can be used to generate original content and/or make the work you are already doing better and more efficient. In the case of audio programs, your business can eliminate background noise and other interference that may interrupt important business meetings (especially in a more digital-reliant world).
